The Walk for Aging Positively is an annual event held by the Social Services Network (SSN). This is the third annual event. This year SSN is hosting a virtual Walk for Aging Positively, our flagship community event on November 21st.
Social Services Network (referred to as SSN) is a not-for-profit focusing on supporting racialized seniors to age with dignity by aging in place (at home).
RISE (Reducing Isolation and Social Exclusion) is an innovative on-line program supporting the health and well-being of vulnerable seniors, keeping them informed and socially engaged during the COVID-19 pandemic. The RISE project helps to improve the health, security and well-being of seniors and increase their knowledge of public programs and services they can access.
With your support, we will be able to assist 450 registered clients with weekly programming for 6 days per week at no cost to the client. The cost of operating RISE is as little as $12.50 per senior/per month.
By reaching out to your friends, family members and networks to contribute financially; they can support you to “RISE to the Challenge” – Go out for a walk, a hike, bike, swim or any activity that keeps people active and share your story with a video message or a selfie to help promote healthy aging.
